Nominations are open for Educational Support Professional of the Year!

Our district is currently accepting nominations for our 2025 Educational Support Professional of the Year! Each year, we recognize the outstanding service by school employees who provide direct or indirect services to students and their families. Such school staff includes paraprofessionals, custodians, secretaries/clerks, child nutritional staff, information technology staff, and transportation staff. Join us at our Secondary Art Show on May 4!

Our Secondary Art Show will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Appoquinimink Community Library and will feature student artwork from all ASD secondary schools. The amazing artwork will remain on display through Tuesday, May 7, and can be viewed during scheduled library hours.

The Referendum PASSES with Record Turnout

Join us for the Elementary Art Exhibition on April 27!

We are thrilled to share our Elementary Art Exhibitions on Saturday! The exhibition will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Appoquinimink Community Library and will feature student artwork from all ASD elementary schools. The amazing artwork will remain on display through Tuesday, April 30, and can be viewed during scheduled library hours. Our artists are incredibly talented, and we are so thrilled to see the return of this wonderful event.

Join us for Bagels with a Board member!

Once a month, School Board President Michelle Wall extends an offer to parents and community members to join her for an informal conversation about education news, issues, and concerns. On Friday, April 12 at about 8:30 a.m., she'll be joined by Superintendent Dr. Matt Burrows at Manhattan Bagel in Middletown. We invite you to join them! But please keep in mind: board members do not receive a salary, so if you order refreshments you will be responsible for the bill!

April Board of Education Meeting

The Appoquinimink Board of Education meets tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Board Room at the Marion E. Proffitt Training Center in Odessa.

2024 Preschool Application Communications

Communications are going out now to families who received a spot in the preschool program. If you do not receive a communication by April 1, your student does not have a spot.

March 28 is an asych day for high school students, no school for PreK-8 grade

Reminder for our families — tomorrow, Thursday, March 28, is an Asynchronous Learning Day for high school students. There is no school for students in prekindergarten through eighth grade — staff have professional development.
